Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma attended the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing, dancing and acting. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows when she was ten years old. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The movie beat all previous records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Critics gave high praise to the film, particularly those who were young. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later for the movie.
